This 2-day workshop will help you with the long-term work of practicing culturally responsive teaching. You’ll learn how to create conditions that allow ALL students to thrive and embrace rigor — especially students who are under-performing.

Due to Coronavirus concerns, this event has been rescheduled. This event will now take place:

October 21, 2020 8:30am - 3:30pm & October 22, 2020 8:30am - 3:30pm

Seats are limited, so you must apply to attend. Successful applicants will be notified by September 15.

Who Should Apply?

  • Administrators, Principals, Teachers, Coaches — all who are committed to changing practices to ensure culturally responsive teaching is embedded in their school or organization

Requirements:

  • Participants must read Culturally Responsive Teaching & The Brain, which will be provided, in advance of the training

  • Attendees must attend both days, all day

Preference will be given to applicants who:

  • Have read Culturally Responsive Teaching or have joined a book study of it

  • Apply as a team, with at least 1 administrator and 2 staff members

  • Participated in the Equity Fellows initiative or culturally responsive teaching book studies

  • Commit to a 2020-21 school year implementation schedule for lessons learned

Please note this is NOT a train-the-trainer workshop. Rather, it will help professionals reflect on their own practices and change their interactions to better support students.
