Back by popular demand....The California Army National Guard is proud to present...YOUNG LEADERS ADVENTURE CAMP!



This will be an exhilarating one day overnight camp at the San Diego Safari Zoo! You will be participating in jungle ropes doing teambuilding challenge courses with your child and your peers! Learn about the amazing wild life conservation skills. Demonstrate resiliency skills together as a family while connecting with your fellow military youth and family members. Understand human impact on the environment and lastly, sleep in the tents during the Roar & Snore Safari. This event is FREE and open to Army National Guard dependents ages 7-12 years old. Come join us for a fun overnight event! Only one parent per family may attend. Everyone must have a ticket in order to join us!

FAQs

*Can anyone participate in the Young Leaders Adventure Camp? No. Only dependents of California National Guard service-members are eligible to attend. Youth must be a dependent of a California National Guard Service-Member in Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). 

*What is the cost for the Young Leaders Adventure Camp? No Cost. The overnight camp is FREE; dependents must be properly registered through Eventzilla

*What is the age requirement? Youth participants must be between the ages of 7-12

*What happens after my youth is registered? After the Child & Youth Program has processed your youth's registration, parents will be emailed an Event Permission Form, which contains necessary forms and information that must be completed for the family to attend the overnight camp. If the Event Permission Form is not completed & returned to the Child & Youth Program, you and your child will NOT be permitted to attend.

*When does registration end? Registration closes when ALL spaces for the event are filled, or Friday, September 29th, 2018 —whichever comes first. Registration for participants is currently OPEN. There are limited spaces, so you should register ASAP.

What Can/Can't I bring to the event?

Items to bring: Closed-toe shoes, sunblock, weather appropriate clothing, required prescribed medications, sleeping bag & pillows, personal toiletries, a flashlight, enthusiasm, a positive attitude to learn and have fun (we will send out a list from San Diego Zoo Safari Park along with the event permission form). 

Items to leave at home: Electronics (computers, iPads, etc.), weapons, drugs, and illegal items. 

Is there a Waitlist? Yes. Registrants will automatically be added to the waitlist when the maximum amount of registrants is reached. You will be contacted via email as space becomes available due to cancellations and drop-outs. The email provided in your registration will be used to contact you, so please ensure the information is up to date.
