Wednesday, 19 February 2020 9:00 AM - Friday, 21 February 2020 12:00 PM PST

Hotel RL, 2300, Olympia, WA, 98502, United States.

Our WSA Winter Association meeting is coming up soon! It's February 19-21 in Olympia, WA at the Hotel RL. We have a great lineup!

We have a lot going on in both Olympia and DC that affect all our programs and parents, and you'll get the latest and be able to provide some meaningful insight as we move forward on many exciting initiatives, including a new Complex Needs Fund, 12-month childcare subsidy for homeless children, Early ECEAP and some exciting and visionary proposals for our whole early learning system.

The agenda includes:

Erin Jones- By popular demand, we're bringing back Erin Jones, who is an amazing educator and speaker on issues of race and teaching and culture.

Tarra Simmons - Tarra is the Director of the Civil Survival Project where her work is building holistic advocacy and legal services led by and for the formerly incarcerated. Tarra’s commitment to this work stems from her own experiences as a survivor of multiple forms of violence, substance use disorder, and incarceration. She believes those closest to the problem are closest to the solution and should have an integral role in leading the end of mass incarceration and healing its aftermath.

Secretary Ross Hunter - Secretary Hunter has been a leader in Early Learning since his days as Chair of the House Appropriations Committee, guiding through large expansions in ECEAP, childcare, and the development of the Early Achievers system.  Now he serves as Secretary of the Department of Children, Youth and Families.
