Writing Workshop Grades K-5 June 21-23, 2016 HOUSTON

This four day workshop is an in depth look at starting Writer’s Workshop in your classroom. Components addressed will include keys to strong mini-lessons and structures to support your writers with writing as well as strategies for managing the physical aspects of writing folders (K-2) and writer's notebooks (3-5).  Conferring with writers is often a daunting task for many teachers and we will show you ways to look at your students' writing as well as your unit of instruction to make decisions about identifying strengths as well as points of instruction for conferences. Together we will take you through planning your first month of school (4-5weeks).  Registration fee includes professional book, workshop binder, and other surprises!  Break out sessions will be throughout the three days so we can really help tailor the workshop for primary (K-2) and intermediate (3-5) writers.
