Many LGBT youth often experience bias and discrimination as a result of their gender identity. LGBT youth benefit from supports that affirm their identity as normal.  This webinar focuses on the importance of using "person centered" language to be mor inclusive of diverse populations, and how to increase your awareness about the ways that language often unconsciously makes assumptions about people and unintentionally reinforces dominant norms around gender and sexual orientation.  A DCF social worker and social work supervisor will be participating in this webinar as subject matter experts who will share highlights from their experiences of supporting a male to female transgender youth towards permanency and stability.
