Classroom: Sunday May 6th 2018 1-5pm at mspeedPerfomance 
Skill Development: Tuesday May 15th, 5-9pm at Pitt Meadows.
On Track Instruction: Friday May 18th 2018 at Mission Raceway Park (Gates open at 7AM)

The WMRC New Racer School is a multi-day course designed to teach the fundamentals of safe, competitive road racing and will prepare you to safely start riding the track immediately.

This course is not just for those who want to start racing; it’s also a great introduction to track riding that is guaranteed to hook you in your first few laps!

For 2018, students who complete the WMRC New Racer School and who are racing with the us in the same year will be able to register for a 2018 WMRC Race License free of charge!

  • The New Racer School consists of a classroom, skill development session at Pitt Meadows and a full day of instruction at Mission Raceways.
  • During the classroom session you will be learning bike & rider preparation, racing techniques, race day procedures, etiquette, flags and safety.
  • During the skill development session at the Pitt Meadows location, you will apply these advanced riding techniques in a safe, non-intimidating environment, allowing you to focus on learning the techniques. 
  • On the school day at Mission Raceway Park you will spend a full day working both on and off the track with an instructor, receiving valuable feedback to help improve your riding and prepare you to start racing. 

This course is open to everyone - not just those who are looking to race! See you there!

New Important Event Requirements:
SPIN ON STYLE K&N BRAND OIL FILTERS ARE NOT PERMITTED
HELMETS MUST BE SNELL 2015 OR ECE 22.05  RATED(WITHIN 5YR DATE CODE) 
THE RIDERS MEETING AT MISSION RACEWAYS IS HELD AT 8AM  AND IS MANDATORY. RIDERS NOT PRESENT WILL BE UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE. NO REFUNDS, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Event participants under the age of 19, must have both legal guardians sign a Minor Participant Waiver at the event in presence of a WMRC Executive member. This waiver must be signed by both legal guardians. This is mandatory and is a requirement of our insurance.

The Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club (WMRC) began in 1959 and enjoyed many years of competitive racing at the Westwood circuit in Port Coquitlam with regional and national races being held there on a regular basis. Today, with the closure of the Westwood circuit in 1990, the WMRC continues to race and hold events at Mission Raceway Park. The WMRC promotes fast, aggressive riding in a safe, professional and controlled environment. A sense of community responsibility is accomplished by getting motorcycle riders who may want push the limits on the street to instead “take it to the track” and raise their riding skills to a higher level.
