About the Event

This backpacking trip is an epic, one of a kind experience, set among the Blue Ridge mountains, along the Appalachian Trail.  Participants will receive intensive martial arts training while immersed in the wilderness, also learning survival skills such as firemaking, tracking, edible/medicinal/utilitarian plants, shelter, and more.

About the Organizer

River City Aikido is a martial arts school that focuses on building resilience through unique and exciting experiences in the dojo and the wilderness. We practice the traditional Japanese martial art of AIKIDO, a non-competitive method of handling conflict. Aikido uses the aggressive force of an attacker against them, employing joint locks, pins, and throws. Brian Hill is the business owner and instructor at River City Aikido. Brian is a 4th degree black belt with over 20 years of experience in aikido. He also owns and operates Navigator Counseling where he provides psychotherapy in Richmond, VA.
