Wilderness First Aid

This intense but fun 2 day course is taught entirely outdoors in the beautiful Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. This program is ideal for anyone who travels off the beaten path and those who enjoy outdoor activities. Students will learn basic land navigation skills, then be given a map and compass and will navigate their way to multiple skills stations, learning at each stop throughout the day. Students will set up camp for the night and test their skills on practical exercises. Day two will consist of training in the morning, followed by a capstone exercise in the afternoon where students will utilize all the skills learned in the course. Upon completion students will receive a certification from the National Association for Search & Rescue. This program is approved by the American Camps Association and is a prequisite for the SARTEC II certification exam. Topics include:
