The Special Collections Department of the Denton Public Library is located on the main floor of the historic Emily Fowler Central Library. The Special Collections are composed of three separate collections: Genealogy, Texana, and Denton local history. Specialized indexes and the electronic catalog provide access to approximately 15,000 cataloged items which include books, pamphlets, microfilm, newspapers, scrapbooks, yearbooks, photographs, letters, journals, oral histories, and the vertical file containing material about local history.
