FLIGHT SIMULATION AT WARTON: PAST SUCCESS & PRESENT CHALLENGES
DR STEVE HODGE,
SENIOR SIMULATION ENGINEER, BAE SYSTEMS
Event Abstract
In this RAeS Heathrow Branch webinar, the guest speaker will give an overview of the history and impact of flight simulation from the earliest days of flight, through to the advent of the world’s first useful flight training simulator, the Link Trainer.
The focus will then shift to the use of simulation as part of the Engineering process applied to the design, development and clearance of combat aircraft and its original application by BAE Systems and its predecessor companies at Warton.
Finally, the story will be brought up-to-date by taking a detailed look at how modelling and simulation is being used to support the integration of the F-35B Lightning II aircraft with the UK’s Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers.
CPD | CPD certificates of attendance will be endorsed for CEng, IEng or EngTech registration.
