The Washington Leadership Network (WALeN) and Washington Family Engagement invite you to the WA Superintendent of Public Instruction Candidate Forum.
Join us for a Q&A led by youth and adult leaders as we hear from candidates, Chris Reykdal (Incumbent, Nonpartisan) and Maia Espinoza (Nonpartisan), on a broad range of key issues relating to our education system.
This forum is organized and led by graduates of the Parent and Children's Leadership Training Institute, a program of Washington Family Engagement whose work centers on civic and leadership development, capacity building, community collaboration and public policy advocacy. Leaders collaborate closely with families and schools to help ensure that every child has equal access to education and the support they need to succeed.
There will be live Spanish interpretation.
Sponsored by the Washington State Association (WSA) of Head Start and Early Learning Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP).

My name is Chris Reykdal and I hope to earn your support as I seek re-election to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). It has been an honor to be your voice and leader overseeing our state’s K-12 public education system. I hope you will take the time to read through some critical policy values I hold. There is nothing more democratic, more forward thinking, or more critical to the future of our state, than our excellent K-12 public school system. Despite the incredible challenges of this global pandemic, we have to keep innovating and keep striving for the resources we need for our students and our educators.
