Days and Times: There is 1 session offered every Monday from 4:00-5:00 PM and Wednesday from 5:00-6:00 PM in the Engage Sport North High Performance Center (Room 14-160) and Gymnasium in the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre.
This program is based on two 1-hour sessions per week for athletes that want to commit to non sport-specific training and improve their abilities for their chosen sport with the focus on long term athlete development (LTAD). The entire 10 week program will focus on all relevent movement patterning relating to this age group for increased strength and agility.
Every session will start with a 5-10 minute dynamic warm-up with a progression of activation exercises that will be a progression of movements to build the foundation for all exercises done in the weight room and in the athlete's sport, such as various acceleration/deceleration, change of direction and agility drills. These will begin with group activities of all movements in the gymnasium leading to the eventual introduction to exercises done in the weight room. There there will be a weight room session based on primary movements that will keep in mind the growing skeleton of the athlete. The session will comclude with a cool-down period of stretching and foam rolling.
There will be at least one coach on the floor for the entire session coaching and guiding every exercise.
