WHAT:    Railroad Engineering: How is urban mass transit managed?

Students between 7th and 12th grade may join in on a railroad engineering class at Union Station in Washington, DC.  The day will be configured to introduce and discuss:

  • grand tour of the station
  • railroad facilities design/fixed infrastructure
    • visit portion of track
    • construction
    • maintenance
    • connectivity/track
    • structure
  • intro to service planning

Lunch will be on our own in Union Station (bring or buy: remember DC prices).
