Long Island University - CW Post , 720 Northern Blvd, , Brookville, NY , 11548, United States.

The purpose of this conference is to deepen participants' understanding of the Social and Emotional Competencies (as defined by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) and to examine strategies for purposefully integrating these competencies into curriculum, assessment, and instruction and school cultures.

Social and emotional learning is the stitching that connects the actions of leaders, teachers and students.  Understanding and Integrating SEL is designed to help participants purposefully integrate SEL competencies into curriculum, assessment, instruction and school culture.

The conference keynote tackles the question, What does it take for SEL to be more than “one more thing” we do in schools?  Breakout sessions offer participants differentiated as well as shared learning opportunities for school or district teams comprised of teachers and administrators.  The conference also includes a facilitated action planning segment for participants to plan next steps for implementation by themselves or with their teams.

Facilitated by LCI President Giselle O. Martin-Kniep, Ph.D, and LCI Senior Consultant Angela Di Michele Lalor.
