Do you ‘trust your gut?’  Have you ever wondered why, or if this is even helpful in every situation?  In this interactive 4-hour workshop we will explore the fundamental ways we are hard-wired to interpret the world around us, why we react the (sometimes crazy?) ways that we do, and practice strategies together to lead more effectively in stressful situations.

Commissioner Shane Davis is a mediator in the Minneapolis, MN field office of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), serving since March 2011 when he started in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa field office.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources management from Northwestern College, in St. Paul, MN.  Mr. Davis’ experience in the collective bargaining and labor relations arena began in the early 1990s, where he worked in a hospital in Edina, Minnesota.  He moved on to elected office in his union, and immediately prior to joining FMCS, was a labor relations consultant for Fairview Health Services.  He also holds a music degree, and continues to play regularly.
