Hickory Hill Park: South Shelter, 1439 East Bloomington St, Iowa City, IA, 52245, United States.

A critter scampered through your backyard last night leaving tracks that seem to tell a story about its activities. What animal was it? What was it doing? What can be learned from its behavior?

During this class, you will practice identifying and interpreting tracks from clear prints and patterns that are commonly found in Iowa urban landscapes. We’ll read additional signs that help understand animal feeding, breeding and territory marking. Finally, you will learn methods to slow you mind and body to get the most out of tracking and your time in nature.

Participants of any experience level are invited.

Yummy snacks are generously provided by New Pioneer Co-op.

Masks are optional for fully vaccinated people and 6' distancing is still recommended.

Fee: $5 per family (up to 4 people)

Backyard Abundance members can register for free. Learn about membership.

Please register soon: The class is limited to 12 families and it is expected to fill quickly.

We meet at the Hickory Hill Park south entrance, 1439 Bloomington Street, Iowa City.
