Tovrea Castle Trip - February 11th 2021

You have seen it for years, probably driven by it countless times on the freeway, maybe your now grown kids asked..."What is that dad/mom?"  A typical reply was..."I don't know." Eventually you would learn from a news cast or sheer osmosis that the structure was called The Tovrea Castle, but you always wondered, what is it really?  Does it have historic significance, who owns it and then the biggie....can we get a tour of it?

The answers to those questions and more are yours to ask when The Scottsdale Corvette Club tours the Tovrea Castle on February 11th, 2021.  As you likely already know, tickets to tour this National Historic Landmark are very rare and extremely hard to come by.  Through the efforts of Suzy Poulter and yours truly we were able to score 24 tickets for this special event. I know, 24 doesn't sound like enough spots to accommodate everyone and the simple truth is you are correct.  However, 12 is the maximum they typically allow, through some schmoozing and cajoling they finally acquiesced and allowed us the unallowable....24 spots!!!  They are $25 each with a limit of 2 per membership.  First come first served basis.

 COVID-19 impact?  I called them recently and they feel comfortable with social distancing rules in place and everyone wearing a facial cover so the trip is on!!

 If you are one of the lucky ones to score tickets the event is on Thursday February 11th at 9am.  We will have lunch immediately after at Lucille's BBQ in the Tempe Marketplace.

 Lunch of course is optional, once I receive all the signups I will call to see who is interested.

 We will caravan to the castle, more details will be available 2 weeks prior to the event.
