Russell "Tony" Wicks, DDS, MS 

Professor and Chairman, Department of Restorative Dentistry, 

received his dental degree from the University of Tennessee in 1978 

and was in private general practice from 1979-90. He joined the 

faculty at the University of Tennessee as Assistant Professor of 

Prosthodontics in 1993, after receiving a master’s degree and 

certificate in the specialty of Prosthodontics from the University of 

Texas at San Antonio. Since then he has conducted prosthodontic 

research and directed the undergraduate curriculum in removable 

prosthodontics and dental implants at the University of Tennessee 

College of Dentistry. In 1995 the American College of 

Prosthodontists recognized Dr. Wicks as the “Outstanding Young 

Prosthodontist” in America. In 2000, Dr. Wicks was appointed to the 

“Academy of Distinguished Teaching Professors” at the University 

of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Wicks has also received the 

“Distinguished Dental Faculty Award” from the College of Dentistry.

Dr. Carroccia has been teaching on the topic in Tennessee for 

almost a decade and has lectured nationally at the ADA and twice 

at the AGD in addition to a speech in the historic Ether Dome in 

Boston at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a published 

author on the matter in journals and a textbook, where he 

collaborated with Ann Brunick, a co-author of the Handbook for 

Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen Sedation. He has a Diplomat from the 

Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation as well as a Master 

from the College of Sedation in Dentistry from the American 

Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He serves on the Tennessee 

Dental Association's Committee for Anesthesia, Sedation and 

Scope of Practice and practices privately in Clarksville, TN.

assistant professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center 

Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery . Dr. Lin graduated 

from SUNY stonybrook with an B.S. ( SUMMA CUM LAUDE), DDS 

(Omicron Kappa Upsilon) from New York University College of 

Dentistry, MD from Vanderbilt University. Completed her Oral 

Surgery 6 yr program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 

2004. She has completed a fellowship at Plastic Surgery 

Department at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. She was in private 

practice for 10 yrs before joining faculty at Vanderbilt University 

Medical Center. Her clinical interests include Orthognathic 

surgery and facial reconstruction. She has published several 

articles and lectured internationally. 

Dr. Mckenna is a board certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, 

full professor, chairman of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery 

Department at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. 

Mckenna earned his DDS from UCLA and MD from Vanderbilt 

University. He has published many articles on various subjects 

on Oral Surgery and is on editorial board of JOMS. He has 

lectured nationally and internationally for AAOMS and AGD.

OFFICE SECURITY AND SHOOTING EVENT 

This course is off site at the Nashville Armory there 

will be a range fee, you can bring your own gun and 

ammo/targets, or rent one and buy ammo/targets 

there. Range space has been reserved for our 

group, but you are on you own for the range and 

the range time is for your convenience to shoot with 

colleagues and is not part of the course or the 

meeting of the TNAGD. The course is 30 minutes, 

3:30 to 4:00pm at the range meeting space. 

TNAGD assumes no liability for your safety or for 

your negligence. Extreme care and attention to 

safe firearm handling is required at all times. All 

range rules must be followed with all due diligence. 

There is limited availability for only 20 participants 

to attend the range portion of this event.
