Time After Loss

A bereavement retreat focussed on supporting those who have lost a loved one to cancer.

What is the Time After Loss Bereavement Retreat?

This bereavement retreat is for anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer, whether it be a friend, partner or relative. The aim of the retreat is to create a space for people to exchange thoughts, feelings and experiences with others who have shared a similar kind of loss.  Often in grief people alternate between feeling overwhelmed and trying to adapt to their new life without their loved one.  Our retreat will cater for your needs regardless of where you are in your bereavement process.

You can take a look at the beautiful Mocketts Farm complex and the surrounding area here.

What will the retreat include?

Based in farm cottages in the beautiful countryside of Kent the weekend will include group support sessions, meditation and art therapy. Our support sessions will be complimented with mindfulness and country walks to help you relax, and specific techniques to encourage compassion towards yourself during such a difficult time. On Saturday evening we will be lighting individual Chinese lanterns as a symbol of our love and loss. The weekend will provide a structured programme including plenty of free time for you.

The retreat will run from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime and is inclusive of meals and snacks provided by our wonderful in house chef. Whilst there will be a menu, the chef can rustle up pretty much anything you feel like.  Home from home...

You can view the bereavement retreat venue at the following website: http://www.mockettsfarm.co.uk/

How do I get there?

If you are driving to the venue, the postcode to use is ME12 4BQ.

The nearest train station is Queenborough station. The train journey from London Kings Cross to Queenborough station takes an hour and a half. From there you can get a taxi to the cottages, which takes approximately 20 minutes, although we will be offering a pick-up service from Queensborough station, which we will email you about nearer the time.

Who is it run by?

The loss and bereavement retreat is facilitated by a lovely and warm group of qualified psychologists who specialise in grief and bereavement. It has been designed for adults.  Whilst we realise that children are affected by bereavement as well,  we are unable to provide specialist support for children at this time.  This event is run by the Bereaved Partners Support Group.  Please see our website to see more about what we do and who we arewww.beareavedpartnerssupportgroup.com
