Students will learn traditional leathercraft skills such as hand-tooling, wet-forming, and staining, as well as modern techniques such as digital design (CAD) and laser cutting to design leather costumes, apparel, and accessories (masks, pauldrons, belts, and wallets).
The Camp is collaboration between Fort Collins Creator Hub, Yendra Built, and Bas Bleu Theatre. The camps will be held at the Fort Collins Creator Hub makerspace, adjacent to Yendra Built fabrication studio. Students are free to design and make what they choose, but will be encouarged to create costumes, allowing for collaboration with Bas Bleu Theatre. A "maker showcase" on the evening June 30 at Bas Bleu will allow students to see their creations in action, onstage, or on display in the lobby. Family and friends are welcome.
Sessions run two weeks, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
