PTSD: Post-Traumatic Skills Development
Presented by Nathaniel McLeroy, Youth Specialist, Youth Matters Consulting
Free and open to the public.
Cambridge Camping presents a unique forum series that brings together a diverse group of caregivers including out-of-school time providers, parents, guardians, and other community members to share perspectives and learn from one another.
This workshop is designed to provide participants with practical tools and strategies for facilitating groups with a trauma-informed lens. Participants will gain an understanding of trauma and its impact on individuals, as well as techniques for creating a safe and supportive environment for group participants.
Cambridge Camping works in the area outside the school system and the social service networks, creating a safe space where adults can seek support, receive training, and ask questions in the company of professionals with relevant expertise. Each topic is selected for its relevance and presented to a broad range of providers, parents, and young adults interested in working with children to promote open discussions and to remove the stigma of emotional and behavioral health needs. Each forum will also offer Cambridge Camping seasonal and temporary staff members valuable opportunities for training and relationship building.
