This will be a 6.25-hour workshop providing an on-site mental health (walking)tour of the Texas State Hospital that will include various departments, forensics, history, procedures and mental healthcare protocol. There also will also be 2 classroom sessions focusing on standard practice, safety, ethics, terminology, procedures, legality, resources and expectations of mental health interpreting. A dialog with select patients and a psychiatrist will be sharing their experiences and expertise. The setting will be a non-threatening collaborative environment. BEI & RID CEUs pending.
