"An Evening Serenade" with the Four Bridges String Quartet, featuring guest soprano Christine Hassevoort
Saturday, May 13th, 7:00 pm, on the 10th floor of the Tower Building
Beginning with the lush, romantic opening movement from Alexander Borodin's String Quartet No. 2, the Four Bridges String Quartet, made up of First Pres members and friends, will welcome the audience to a delightful evening of music at the top of the tower, looking down on the city lights. They will welcome guest soprano Christine Hassevort for the fiery and exciting Vivaldi Motet RV 626 to close out the first half of the program. After a brief intermission, the group will return for a taste of musical "hygge" (pronounced hoo-gah), the Danish concept of comfort, togetherness, and well-being, featuring a presentation of a variety of selections composed by the world-renowned Danish String Quartet. These folk music inspired pieces promise to stir the heart, comfort the soul, and enliven the spirit!
