Workshop Objectives:The purpose of this workshop is to understandthedifferencesbetweenboundaryviolationsandboundarycrossingsinadualrelationshipintheruralcommunity.  Theruralpractitionerwill bepresentedwithbestpracticestandardstofollow whenmakingethicaldecisionsconcerningdualrelationships.  During this session the presenter will clarify how a "dualrelationship" is defined. There will also be a focus on understanding unique characteristics ofruralpracticeorservice, as well as on how the professionalCodesofEthics and licensure boards address dualrelationships, and what takes priority inmakingethicaldecisions. Participants will examine standardsofbestpracticewhenmakingethicaldecisionsconcerningdualrelationships.
