Families with children who are experiencing a lack of self-worth, poor quality relationships, self-sabotaging behavior, and shame, create unhealthy connections with parents and disconnection within the family. Their emotions and behaviors are complex and often take a toll on parents, leaving parents thinking, what am I doing wrong, why hasn’t anything worked, and what should I do different? These symptoms are often a result of early adverse childhood experiences, which significantly impact neurological, physiological, and psychological development, also known as developmental trauma. Embark by Calo provides a framework (CASA Developmental Trauma Model) to understand the formation, impact, and how to effectively treat developmental trauma through relational connection and complimentary interventions.
This parent workshop will provide a framework for creating connection, utilizing the security of relationship to implement safety, ultimately creating an opportunity for empathy and joy. Families will acquire resources and tools implement the framework in their home. These tools will be taught through experiential interactions with Rob Gent, Chief Clinical Officer of Calo Programs, and Cecily Mitchell, Embark by Calo Director. Come experience meaningful connection while learn, growing, and obtaining a transformational opportunity for change in your family.
