This unique program of narrative and experiential learning will give social workers and other mental health professionals, private practitioners, advocates, and supervisors the tools and techniques to guide themselves, their clients and communities through a moment of crisis. Applying her social work background, spirituality and relationships with friends and family, Becky illustrates the power of hope and healing originally inspired by her story, My Husband is Gay-Now What?
Learning Objectives
- Learn principles to help you, your clients and community through a life-changing moment. From the first romantic break-up, to health issues, to the loss of a job, to a child being diagnosed with diabetes, to the death of a family member-the principles are a guide to assist you through the crisis, to help with healing and to provide a sense of peace.
- Understand how to apply the principles with clients and communities to enhance clinical effectiveness within diverse cultures. Participants will walk through confidential, personal and clinical scenarios while focusing on the person-in-environment and strengths-based perspective concepts.
- Model hope and healing by incorporating the Hope & Healing principles into your own self-care by developing a self-care plan using the Producktivity® Principles: Identify. Connect. Organize.
