The Big TIE Debate: Does Purpose Pay? Partial Approval - Free

PURPOSE PAYS: the power of the private sector. Every business seems to have embraced Purpose over the last few years. But how do we make Purpose more than just good intentions and warm words? How do we make sure Purpose pays? Join us in an eye opening discussion that will reveal just how powerful Purpose is, and how over the past ten years, TIE has shaped industries, organisations, communities and the professional development of numerous professionals around the world. We will have Charlie Dawson and Jim Carroll talk about Purpose. We'll have a panel of people that will include people from a variety of areas (NGOs, TIE alumni, senior executives) who have been involved with TIE over the years, reflecting on their experiences and perspectives on purpose. And then we will open up to a debate. We don’t have all the answers. But maybe you can help! Please include names and email addresses of all those attending. IDs must match the name on the ticket.

Monday, 13 November 2017 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM GST

RSA, 8 John Adam St, London, London, WC2N 6EZ, United Kingdom.

You're invited to PURPOSE PAYS: the power of the private sector at the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), London.

Every business seems to have embraced Purpose over the last few years.

But how do we make Purpose more than just good intentions and warm words?

How do we make sure Purpose pays - for communities, colleagues and companies?

Join us in an eye opening discussion that will reveal just how powerful Purpose is, and how over the past ten years, TIE has shaped industries, organisations, communities and the professional development of numerous professionals around the world.

The event will be chaired by Charlie Dawson, Founder of the Foundation. Other speakers will be:

Paul Twivy, Partner and Founder of Core Purpose, and author of "Change the World for a Fiver", and Jim Carroll, former UK Chairman at Bartle Bogle and Hegarty (BBH) and now brand strategy consultant.

Paul Twivy will talk about how purpose has evolved, and how and why Purpose pays.

Jim Carroll will reflect on his own personal engagement with Purpose in the context of Agency management and how he approached the challenges of corporate responsibility and Purpose at different stages of his career.

And Charlie Dawson will provide clarity as to why Purpose matters, and why the idea of Purpose seems to be midly controversial, widely misunderstood and important for us all as individuals.

We end with a panel discussion that will touch on the practical issues of implementation of Purpose. And then we will open up to a debate.

We certainly don’t have all the answers. But maybe you can help! And we hope that you will join us and be involved in the discussion.

Space is limited, so get your tickets soon.

A huge thank you to the RSA, Chris Powell, Jeremy Bullmore, Harry MacAuslan, Jim Carroll and Jim Larock for helping to sponsor today's event.
