The Big Picture

The California National Guard and Youth Programs would like to host an event to inspire interest towards art therapy and self-expression through the means of art to California National Guard dependents. The event will be held in Ontario, Ca. The youth will start their day off with a get to know you ice breaker follow by a brief segment to help the attending members to understand the world of art and its benefits! The Child & Youth Program will partner with a community organization to provide youth with instructors to teach them basic of creating a painting and direction for step by step to compose 1 pre-selected painting. After the completion of the art portion of the programming, the National Guard dependents will debrief to see how art therapy can be an outlet to allow themselves to remain resilient during stressful times.
