This workshop will start with a presentation defining and describing truffles and their importance to forest ecosystems. Participants will then take part in a truffle hunt to learn ways to find truffles almost anywhere woody plants grow. Michael Castellano, Ph.D. is a Forest Mycologist specializing in truffle systematics and taxonomy at the Northern Research Station of the US Forest Service in Corvallis, Oregon, and a PSC alumnus.
