The 2021 Blackstone Gallery Works On Paper Prize. Theme: STORIES

Welcome to the 2021 Blackstone Gallery Works on paper art prize. This year's judges include; artist James Drinkwater,  Audience development officer Zana Kobayashi (Newcastle Art Gallery) and artist Ron Hartree.  Entries close Friday October 30 at 5pm sharp. The finalists will be featured in an group exhibition on Saturday Novemebr 20th 2021 at Blackstone Gallery where the overall winner will be announed on 8PM that night. Winner will receive a 4 week solo exhibition at Blackstone Gallery Newcastle with complete sponsorship plus $1000 cash. People's choice will receieve $500 cash.

Image must be at least 1MB and no more than 10MB and in jpeg format.

Please read the terms and conditions carefully before applying 

• This prize is open to Australian and New Zealand residents over the age of 16 only. 
• The entered work must use the theme 'STORIES.' The term ‘STORIES’ is to be understood broadly and can be representative in colour, concept, emotion etc.
• Work must be two dimensional and on paper (e.g watercolour paper, printmaking paper,yupo paper, canvas paper, card, butchers paper, cartridge paper ( basically anything that ends in paper)
• All artworks entered by the Artist must be the original work and concept of the Artist. A third party may not enter any works on behalf of an Artist.
• All works must be an original. No art created digitally will be accepted.
• The entered work must be new (completed within the previous 12 months) and be the absolute property of the Artist, and must not have been shown previously or entered in any other competition.
• Finalsits works MUST be framed with protective glass.
• The finished artwork, including the frame, must be no larger than A0.
• Selection of finalists will be at the discretion of Blackstone Gallery and no correspondance will be entered into the judgement.
