The Fall of 2016 will bring with it the opportunity to attend a full-on textile and design class at the Philadelphia University in … you guessed it … Philadelphia. This class will accommodate a very small number of students from 7th - 12th grades and will be conducted on one day each week for four weeks in September from 9.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. each session. The students will be the first to receive instruction in the new Fashion and Textiles Futures Center, which is currently in full-throttle construction!!!
- Thursday, September 8, 2016, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Sketchbook/Drawing/Design Development
- Thursday, September 15, 2016, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Printing
- Friday, September 23, 2016, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Jacquard Weaving
- Friday, September 30, 2016, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Knitting
On the last day, Friday, September 30, 2016, the administrators will meet with parents at noon to discuss current revitalization of textiles and design in the US, the Phila U textile design program and current trends in the textiles and design industry.
These classes will be taught by a combination of professor-graduate students.
