Students need exposure to scaffolded postsecondary content throughout all four years of high school to make purposeful and intentional choices by 12th grade. Early Career and College Awareness (ECCA) is a 9th and 10th-grade program that explicitly introduces students to self-discovery exercises and helps them learn about and engage with various career opportunities and educational pathways. This exposure and awareness allow students to be in the driver’s seat throughout high school to explore their interests and design a personalized postsecondary plan.
This 8-week, small-group engagement will cover the 5 strategies for launching a high-quality Early Career and College Awareness program at a high school, and create an environment for practitioners to plan, discuss, and share ideas for implementation within their unique context.
Additional Information:
This is a team-based learning experience to ensure effective planning and implementation.
