COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed for new and veteran agents alike - it presents a two-part overview of how to address the challenges of MLS fields and craft your listing description. 1) The first part of our course focuses on the technical aspects of a house. This includes guidance on misunderstood fields, including some technologies which are banned in Georgia. We’ll review green building certification and give you a synopsis of the HERS Index Score so you’ll understand its potential and a possible pitfall in your listing. We’ll also spend some time on zoning/planning issues so we can speak about tiny houses, accessory dwelling units and what “historical” means. 2) The second part of our course focuses on architectural styles. The MLS fields for styles are buckets within which are more specific styles. We’ll review some of these specific styles as we discuss creating a backstory/pedigree for a property, describing houses that mix styles and the language you can use to talk with your clients about style without being a style expert. This course content is designed to help you provide the best service for your clients so we welcome you to ask questions as we go.

Ryan Taylor founded Ryan Taylor Architects, LLC (RTA) in 2002. We provide services for residential projects (renovations, additions + new construction) with a focus on health, comfort and efficiency. We also provide consulting services for zoning, building code compliance, permitting and other jurisdictional challenges. RTA’s work includes projects in the United States, the Caribbean and Africa. RTA became a real estate school and began offering our own education events for real estate professionals in 2019. Offering our own events rather than presenting topics for others allows us to develop courses based on your guidance – we get direct input from you though questions, evaluations, surveys and offline discussions. (Got an idea for a course? Let us know!)
