Grounded in current research and SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework, this foundational training helps practitioners develop the knowledge and skills needed to plan, implement, and evaluate effective, data-driven programs and practices that reduce behavioral health disparities and improve wellness.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

·         Define behavioral health and its relationship to substance misuse

·         Describe the Strategic Prevention Framework, SAMHSA’s five-step planning model

·         Identify the needs of vulnerable populations in order to improve cultural competency and more effectively address behavioral health disparities

·         Discuss effective approaches to collaborating across sectors to sustain prevention outcomes

Note:  This is a four day class.  All four days must be attended/completed to receive the Certificate of Attendance.  No partial credit is provided.

Class size is limited:  22 individuals.

28 Prevention CEU hours have been approved for this course.  Pre-work is required for this course.  Prevention CEU hours are available upon completion of the pre-work.

 

Walk-in registrations the day of the workshop cannot be accommodated, since materials will not have been prepared nor catering ordered.  

 

OHIO COACHING & MENTORING NETWORK (OCAM) was created to support the Strategic Prevention FrameworkPartnerships for Success (SPF-PFS) in the state of Ohio. Funding for the SPF-PFS was provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) and administered by OhioMHAS.

 

Cancellation policy

There is no penalty for cancellation before the cancellation deadline, noon on December 4, 2019. Please contact Cathy Born at 513-751-8000 x10 or cborn@prevention-first.org to cancel your registration. If is it necessary for the PreventionFIRST! to cancel a program, registration fees will be returned.

A registrant who cannot attend may avoid forfeiting the registration fee and paying a cancellation fee by providing a substitute from his or her organization to attend the workshop. To arrange for this member to attend, the original registrant should contact Administrative Assistant at PreventionFIRST! at 513-751-8000 or info@prevention-first.org and provide information for the substitute.
