Support staff are provided by a family if their teen has more intensive toileting, diet, or behavior needs during STARS. We have plenty of DSG Staff and Volunteers at all times, but these are reserved for our teens needing more support. **A Support Staff CANNOT be a parent.**

About the Event

Teens will learn how to be aware of their personal safety, suggetions for staying home alone safely, how to ask for help in a scary situation and ways they can be more aware of their surroundings. This class will be a great lead in to our self defense class we are hosting on April 15th.

Teens ages 12 to 18 with Down syndrome are welcome to join any STARS activity throughout the school year.  Visit www.kcdsg.org/STARS for more information.  Please note, all STARS events are a no-parent zone unless otherwise specified. You must register your teen first for each event. Space is limited.

The Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide support and resources for individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the professionals who serve them. DSG seeks to provide the entire community with information and education to broaden awareness and foster positive attitudes regarding people with Down syndrome.
