About the Event

The St Mary Golf Outing fundraiser event will be a day of fun with proceeds going to KIDS HOPE USA and CATHOLIC SPORTS CAMPS. The day will include 18 holes of a 4 person best ball scramble golf event with a shot gun start at 1 PM. Lunch will be provided. Their will be various contests at several of the holes including longest drive, longest putt and hole-in-one. Grand prize is a car for the hole-in-one.

We invite you, your friends and neighbors to a worthwhile event. You can participate in several ways.

  1. $95 per person - GOLF & DINNER includes 18 hole of best ball scramble golf. Lunch of hot dogs, drink and chips. Buffet style dinner at Jamesons restaurant located in the club house after golf. Special guest speaker after dinner will be Father Burke Masters/ Chicago CUBS Chaplain.
  2. $65 per person - ONLY GOLF includes 18 hole of best ball scramble golf. Lunch of hot dogs, drink and chips.
  3. $30 per person - ONLY DINNER includes buffet style dinner at Jamesons restaurant located in the club house after golf. Special guest speaker after dinner will be Father Burke Masters/ Chicago CUBS Chaplain.

The Knights of Columbus was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

Event Speakers

Father Burke Masters
Chicago Cubs Chaplain

Fr. Burke was born and raised in Joliet IL. He converted to Catholicism at the age of 18 just before going to Mississippi State University on a baseball scholarship. His major league dream did not materialize, so after working as an actuary, he then worked in minor league baseball for four years. He felt the call to the priesthood and attended Mundelein Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Joliet on June1, 2002. From 2006 to 2018 he served as the Vocation Director for the Diocese of Joliet. In August 2018, he became the Secretary for Evangelization and Catechesis and the Director of Lay Formation for the Diocese of Joliet. He has served as the Catholic chaplain for the Chicago Cubs since 2013.
