Welcome to Spring 2021 Windchill Registration!

Below is all the information you will need to successfully register for the MNRD Recreational League!

We intend to host 6 virtual Sunday practices this term, beginning April 18th. You do NOT need to have access to skating space to participate in this term.

TYPICAL VIRTUAL PRACTICE SCHEDULE:

4:00pm, Log on to Zoom, Overview of the days practice in the whole group.

4:05- 4:30pm Off skates workout focused on strength, endurance, and agility with no equipment required.

4:30- 4:45pm Stretching, flexibiliy, and recovery work.

4:45- 5:45pm Whole group discussions. This could be any combination of footage, guest speakers, strategy breakdown, games, Q&A, and rules breakdown depending on the week's plan.

5:45- 6:00pm  Break into 2 groups based on your choice in the moment: skate skill breakdown or social time with Windchill friends.

**This is a little different from our agenda from the previous virtual tern based on feedback we receieved. We wanted to make this in a way that could be plugged into for only the second half of that week's session if you are uninterested in working out with us virtually. We will not be planning a separate live workout Tuesday or Thursday this term.**

Recreational League cost:

Spring Virtual Session Recreational League - FREE

** Please Commit to attending at least 50% (3 live virtual sessions) if you register. Do NOT sign up to hold your place for future terms/sessions. We are offering the Spring Windchill at no cost, but the coaches are still putting in a considerable amount of time and energy into making this season a success. Registering is committing to your coaches and your teammates. **

Additional Info:

Do Not Sign Up to Hold Your Place for Future Terms/ Sessions: If you do not plan to attend and participate in the virtual practices, please do not sign up solely in order to hold your spot. Opting out of this virtual term will NOT lose your place within the Windchill program. If you chose not to register for the virtual Windchill Spring term, you will NOT automatically be removed from the Windchill list or the Windchill Slack at this time. If you would like to be removed from these lists, please indicate that to the coach or admin. When we are able to go back to skating in person, you will NOT have forfeited your place within the program. Closer to the start date, we will communicate if Fall Windchill will continue to be virtual. You will have another opportunity to participate at that time.

Session Cost is Free: Please Commit to attending at least 50% (3 live virtual sessions) if you register. We are offering the sessions at no cost, but the coaches are still putting in time and energy into making this season a success. Registering is committing to your coaches and your teammates. We will encourage those who register to think about what this term is worth to them, and to find a way to pay that forward in their community through donations of your money or time as you are able. We will be discussing this idea more during Windchill.

No WFTDA Insurance: Womans Flat Track Derby Association insurance is a secondary insurance you would be required to have to participate in our recreational league program if we were to be in person. Since we will not be hosting any in person practices, nor will you be required to skate in order to participate in practices, this will not be required at this time.

No Skating Space Required: Due to COVID-19, MNRD will not be providing any skating space. You will not need to skate in order to participate in the Sping term. If you would like to submit footage or practice skating skills, you will need to locate a space to practice skating yourself and do so at your own risk. Skaters should have primary insurance, wear all of their gear, and take proper social distancing measures if they chose to skate. MNRD and Windchill are not liable for illness or injury as a result of skating in the community.

Tentative Term Dates and Times: April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9 (mother's day), May 16, May 23. We have moved the time up slightly to 4:00-6:00pm to accomodate those who may be celebrating Ramadan at sunset.

I Still Have More Questions: If you have more questions, you can contact the co-managers, through email or Slack.
