****SECOND DAY ADDED****

Because of demand, we are adding an encore performance on Sunday December 9th.

The morning will begin with 4 hours of lecture and discussion followed by live procedures and narration.  Attendees of the Saturday lecture will be able to come for the Sunday afternoon procedures.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There has been a lot of discussion about Tethered Oral Tissues over the past decade.  How do they limit function?  How are they assessed? And, certainly, when and how are they revised?

As we push our way through the theoretical and clinical challenges posed by TOTs, we feel the tug and pull of varying opinions in our daily decision making.  We often tend to polarize around these opinions once we feel comfortable with one way or the other.  But as clinicians and scientists, we must always be open to the progress that others are making and be willing to change our own thinking if need be.

Soroush Zaghi, an ENT from Orange County, California, has seen and heard all the points of view regarding TOTs.  As a researcher and clinician, he is one of the few from the medical profession that has expanded his view on the relationship between tongue tie and airway, tongue tie and fascial restriction, and tongue tie and oral soft tissue dysfunction.  His collaboration with Christian Guilleminault and the Standford crew has also put him in touch with the latest thinking from academia.  And his newly formed practice, "The Breathe Institute" in Los Angeles, is leading the way in practice and education for dealing with TOTs.

Of particular importance, Dr. Zaghi has refined a technique for dealing with the submucosal restriction so often found in the kind of tether that holds the dorsum of the tongue down and away from the palate.  His technique for "going deep" is an important advancement in dealing with this kind of restriction properly.

In this one-day course, Soroush will describe his technique in detail, including the necessary collaboration of the myofunctional therapist both before and after the procedure.

If all goes well, there will be a clinical demonstration in the afternoon as well.

This course is for all clinicians doing frenum revisions, all clinicians referring for frenum revisions, and for myofunctional therapists that want to learn about an advanced collaboration protocol.

There are only 40 seats available for this limited engagement so please reserve early.

This course offers 7.5 units of AGD PACE credits.
