Working remotely has many advantages, but at the same time it comes with many challenges. One of them is isolation and physical separation from other team members. This problem applies especially to people living alone and can have a large impact on an employee's productivity and employees' well being.
Isolation, lowered mood, lack of sense of belonging to the group can promote demotivation of the team member. We must keep in mind that when working from home, employees also have many other responsibilities, such as setting their own schedule or solving technical problems. The combination of remote work and personal responsibilities can lead to frustration. In this day and age, employees need to maintain self-discipline and self-motivation while enjoying their work and being part of a team.
Often, remote working can lead to work-life-blending, which in many cases has a negative impact on family life and increases personal stress. This is often associated with an accumulation of responsibilities, being in the same space with others for 24 hours, which can also cause problems in separating work and private life.
Unfortunately, prolonged remote work without physical contact can damage team spirit and affect the relationship between team members and their employer. Moreover, less and less interaction between employees makes it more difficult to solve problems, create new ideas and innovations.
During the course, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about how to remedy this, the dynamics of online teams, and techniques and tools that will allow you to effectively collaborate as a team and ensure the well-being and team spirit of your team.
Remote teams have fewer opportunities to socialize, making it difficult to get to know one another or new members. This can lead to feelings of isolation and disconnection from our colleagues, and it may even lead to team conflict and reduced productivity.
Now, with the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent rise in remote working, organizations must ensure that team spirit is maintained even if employees are not face to face.
Virtual team-building exercises and tools can help remote teams to overcome these difficulties, and to drive a sense of community and shared understanding.
During the workshop, several tools will be presented and practiced like ice-breakers, energisers, collaborative activities and short team building games to be implemented online.
