Simon Tahamata was born in a refugee camp in The Netherlands. His heritage is from the Moluccas, small islands by Indonesia. Through his perseverance, hard work and incredible technical skills he was invited to play in the world renowned Ajax youth academy at age 15. He made his debut for the 1st team at age 21 and ended up winning 3 domestic titles, the Dutch FA cup and also had 22 caps for the Dutch national team. Later in his career he also played for Belgian club Standard Liege, and another dutch famous club Feyenoord.
After his professional career ended he immediately started work as a youth trainer at Standard Liege. After several years he was asked to return to AFC Ajax as youth trainer. He is currently the technical trainer for the whole youth academy. He has helped train some of the world's most famous Ajax players such as Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Jan Vertonghen and Justin Kluivert. He is a true legend at the club where he is adored by players and staff for his charisma, his incredible work ethics, and high energy. In 2015 he opened his own training academy, named Simon Tahamata Soccer Academy, where talented young players train with him on Sundays when he is not training the Ajax players.

For this program we have put together four different age groups who will each train for 1 hr 15 min for 5 days. Please register for your age group and note the time this group will train. For each age group areas of focus will be the same but will be adjusted to meet the needs of the group. Training will focus on the following topics:
