Topic: Direct Oral Anticoagulants: Clinical Pearls and Cases

Objectives: 

  • Understand the pharmacology, use, efficacy, and safety data of direct oral anticoagulants.
  • Recognize clinical conditions where direct oral anticoagulants are definitely indicated, and conditions where their use is considered experimental.
  • Be familiar with monitoring of direct oral anticoagulant activity and reversal in the event of major hemorrhage or surgery.
