We have the pleasure of offering an amazing lecture from one of our best local lecturers and hospitalists. Dr. Gowen is an Academic Hospitalist and Internal Medicine Residency Associate Program Director of the Central Arkansas Veterans Health Care System as well as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Gowen will be providing a cutting edge and provocative multiphase talk on daily items/tasks/diagnostics that we perform but that have been shown to not improve patient care or outcomes.
We are honored to have Dr. Thompson joining us from the national board of the Society of Hospital Medicine to give an informative update on the scope and direction of hospital medicine. Dr. Thompson is the Head of Section of Hospital Medicine at the University of Nebraska in Omaha and serves as Secretary for the Society of Hospital Medicine.
