Full traditional Seder meal will be provided. Free will donation to cover cost.
On Thursday of Holy Week, April 9th, LOUMC will again host a Passover Seder Meal. The Jewish Passover meal is what Jesus and his disciples were celebrating at his last supper, and the imagery of Passover informs our Christian understanding of Easter. The word "seder" means "order," and refers to the fact that the order of the Exodus story is recalled using the symbolic food items on the Seder plate (see picture above). We will look at those symbols in their original context and with regard to what they mean for us as Christians in light of Jesus and the events of Holy Week andEaster. The Seder will begin at 6:30, and by 7:00 we will be eating the FULL meal. (There's lots to eat, so don't eat an early dinner beforehand!) Three years ago, when we last had a Seder meal, it was extremely well received. The cost is a free-will donation.
