Learning Objectives:

The overall objective of this event is to advance in the knowledge of childhood obesity including epidemiology, complications and management of childhood obesity. At the end of the school, the participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the rising burden of childhood obesity globally in general and in India in particular
  • Understand the etiology and risk factors of childhood obesity as well as interpretation of growth chart for timely intervention
  • Discuss the challenges and effective strategies for the prevention of childhood obesity
  • Recognize the importance of complications of childhood obesity and multidisciplinary approach to management of childhood obesity including diet, physical activity, weight management and behavioral therapy
