This module introduces the school climate as a valid approach to school improvement and pro-social education. You will explore pivotal stages of the school climate improvement process, the impact of school climate on staff, students, and families. With reflection activities, you will begin to articulate your values and connections to this work and process.

 

Participants will be able to:

  • Reflect on their understanding of school climate and its connection to their role and vision for work.
  • Ground their understanding of school climate in the research behind its significance and impact.
  • Understand the importance of an equity framework in approaching school climate improvement work.
  • Articulate their perspective regarding why school climate work improvement is a worthwhile effort by formulating a personal WHY statement that is relevant and compelling to stakeholders. (Home Assignment)
