Panache

Michelle Cable founded Panache in 1998 in Eureka, CA. Panache has existed as many different entities in the music industry since then. We originated as a music zine, born out of the pure love of discovering bands that both inspired and shook your soul. Interviewing bands led to promoting shows in Humboldt County, CA, and then in San Francisco. Panache evolved into a North American booking agency when we started organizing tours for bands nationwide. While in NY, after existing as an agency for over a decade, Panache expanded into music management to help our artists find the guidance they needed to develop their art into sustainable, healthy, long-lasting careers. At Panache, we are a collective of independent-minded music lovers who pride ourselves on thinking outside the box as we focus on creative production. Our artists are part of our family as we work closely to promote, share and expand their art. We bridge the gap between DIY ethos and commercial success while always keeping an artist’s best interest and integrity to heart. Our worldwide management roster now includes Mac DeMarco, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Ty Segall, SPELLLING, The Murlocs, and Jess Cornelius. Over the years, Panache has focused on utilizing our resources to perform philanthropic acts for organizations like Planned Parenthood, Noise For Now, Elizabeth House & many others. We strive to be innovative in doing our part to help make this world a better place.

Growing up Mexican in LA, Bianca heard G-funk blasting out of cars and cumbia coming out of the stereo at backyard BBQs, and during her teen years, she started spending her nights soaking up electro, house and all sorts of heavy bass music, most often in the city's vibrant underground club and warehouse rave scene.

Auto Reverse

Open Mike Eagle spent the 2010s finding comedy in rap music and American nightmares. On albums like Brick Body Kids Still Daydream and Dark Comedy, he delivered hilarious socio-political insights via half-sung verses laid atop progressive production. Acclaim from publications like Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and NPR coincided with headlining solo tours and top-billing at events like Adult Swim Festival. Between studio sessions, Eagle co-founded The New Negroes, a standup-meets-music variety show that explores perceptions of blackness. He and co-founder Baron Vaughn brought the show to Upright Citizens Brigade, Comedy Central, and venues around the U.S. Since founding his record label Auto Reverse Records, though, Eagle has scaled back the jokes. He’s finally unpacking his traumas and acknowledging their impact.

Brainfeeder / TAR

PBDY (Paul Preston) has been the resident selector/DJ at the heart of the Brainfeeder family for nearly 12 years, hosting radio shows, building DJ mixes, rocking label showcases, instores, afterparties and touring worldwide with Thundercat, Flying Lotus and The Cinematic Orchestra. A self-confessed music fanatic, his inestimable and seemingly inexhaustible passion for new sounds is utterly infectious. He established his own label TAR in 2013, creating a platform to share his favourite experimental sounds sourced from lesser known acts as far afield from the world. It was simply a matter of time before his energy shifted from musical curation to creation. In 2017 PBDY linked with Jeremiah Jae under the moniker JP Moregun for a moody, psych-heavy rap mixtape on Brainfeeder. It was PBDY’s first outing in the role of producer. 2018 saw PBDY make his solo debut on Brainfeeder, contributing the eerily beautiful ‘Bring Me Down’ (featuring vocals by close friend and labelmate Salami Rose Joe Louis) to the label’s 10th anniversary compilation “Brainfeeder X”. 2019 saw the release of PBDY's debut solo record 'Careworn' including features from Samuel T. Herring (Future Islands), Anika & Salami Rose Joe Louis along with musical additions from Jeff Parker, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Tylana Renga & Justin Brown. Post pandemic PBDY has recently shifted his sonic vision a bit towards ambient sounds releasing 2 'untitled' releases & focusing on a more cinematic style as he breaches into the music scoring world. His first short film score came out in 2021 for the short film 'Red Room' based on the novel Bitterhall. With a finished new 2nd album ready to release, more to come from this DJ turned Producer.
