Sashiko Embroidery Online Workshop

Learn about a special kind of embroidery: Sashiko! You'll learn 2 traditional patterns to stitch to make into coasters or something else of your choosing (e.g., a patch, pocket or piece for a larger work). You'll learn how to stitch Sashiko patterns and how to use this popular method to create visible mending for clothing and home items. This is a relaxing and useful activity and one that will produce beautiful things! 

Class Includes:

• Live, online instruction for Sashiko stitching techniques
• Two fabric coasters in your choice of colors: indigo or dark red
• Fabric backing for coasters to sew on after the session (if desired).
• Sewing kit that is yours to keep (special needles, leather thimble, and scissors)
• Free delivery of class supplies within Portland, OR; free pick up or purchased shipping of supplies to those outside Portland

You Will Need:

• Good lighting and a comfortable seat!
• Computer with a video camera to connect to our online meeting

This is a Craft for a Cause event: 10% of class fees and add-on purchases will be donated to the Oregon Worker's Relief Fund, an organization helping immigrant Oregon workers left out of the federal stimulus package.
