A permit-holder who has completed the Advanced Firearms Course must submit an Amendment form to the Sheriff’s Office in which he or she requests the issuance of an unrestricted concealed carry license. The submission of this Amendment initiates a completely new investigation into the permit-holder:
- Background;
- Character and fitness;
- Mental health history;
- Criminal history (even 1 prior arrest will have an impact on whether an unrestricted concealed carry license will be granted regardless of disclosure);
- Moral character;
- Prior and/or current illegal use of controlled substances (a prior DWI, DWAI, DWAI-drugs arrest will have an impact on whether an unrestricted concealed carry license will be granted regardless of disclosure);
- Immigration/naturalization status;
- Military experience and discharge status;
- Ability to follow directions and abide by the instructions of the Sheriff’s Pistol License Office and the Licensing Officer/Judge.
- Disclosure along with an explanation may not necessarily satisfy the licensing officer, as suggested in paragraphs number 4 and 6 above
CANCELATIONS MUST BE MADE 7 DAYS PRIOR TO CLASS DATE, TO RECIEVE A REFUND MINUS THE 10% FEE.

Completion of this class is no guarantee that the Judge will issue the unrestricted license.
ALL FIREARMS ARE TO BE SECURED AND LEFT IN YOUR VEHICLE ,THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS!
There also will be no cell phones allowed in class. First responders and people with emergencies surrender phones to lead instructor at the time you arrive at the class. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN FAILURE OF THE CLASS, AND NOTIFICATION TO THE SHERIFF AND COUNTY COURT.

The Saratoga County Advanced Pistol Class will start with the classroom located at Porters Corners Fire House at 405 Bockes Road Porter Corners, NY 12859. Please arrive between 8:15 am and 8:30 am class will begin at 9 am sharp. Lunch will be served.
After the class room part is complete we will drive around the corner to the SaraSpa Rod and Gun Club to complete the rest of the class. When the instructors are ready they will instruct you to retrieve your firearm. ALL FIREARMS NEED TO BE IN A GUN BAG OR CASE SEPARATE FROM THE AMMUNITION. The firearm you choose should be the firearm you plan to carry concealed and are able to complete the course of fire listed above. This should also be the firearm you have been practicing with.
