We are pleased to invite you to our seminar on the latest updates to the Sales Tax and Service Tax (SST) frameworks.
In this seminar, we will also consider the implications of GST closure audits and the potential risk areas to be considered.
While the SST was implemented on 1 September 2018, the taxes continue to evolve. Additional exemptions have been given by the Ministry of Finance, and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (“RMCD”) continue to release and update general and specific guidance.
The fast pace of the updates and amendments make it imperative that businesses keep up to date to ensure that they are in compliance with the legislation.
The purpose of the first part of this seminar is to provide updates on the key changes / guidance and highlight common issues arising from the application of such.
We will follow with a discussion on the upcoming GST closure audit programme and the potential approaches taken by the RMCD, as well as some of the steps that businesses should take to prepare for these audits.
We will close out the session with a panel discussion and question and answer forum on the issues raised.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Mr Raja Kumaran and will be made up of representatives from the RMCD, the manufacturing sector and the services sector who will provide insights from their own perspective on the sales and service tax implementation process to date.
In Summary, the seminar will cover the following areas:
