On October 8th & 9th Global Wind Organisation will be hosting its annual Safety & Training Forum. As a ‘must do’ in the community’s calendar, the Forum brings together safety and training experts from across the world to discuss the industry’s most pressing challenges.

As a non-profit industry association, GWO places a high value on connecting with its community, so the Forum’s is specifically designed to foster open discussion and collaboration. You'll have the chance to network with peers, hear updates from GWO, and contribute to shaping the future of our industry through workshop sessions.

This year’s Forum also plays host to the Safety & Training Awards. The awards shine a light on the outstanding training teams delivering GWO standards training around the world. New to the Safety & Training Awards this year is the Instructor of the Year Award, nominated by course participants. This provides even greater focus on the amazing work individual instructors deliver each and every day.

Last year’s Forum was attended by 150+ representatives of the GWO community including training providers, certification bodies, member representatives from O&M’s, industry associations and suppliers.

GWO knows how important it is to for our community to come together, all look one another in the eye and work for the good of our industry. It's so important it's written into our non-profit DNA and in our ‘by the industry, for the industry’ ethos.

What to Expect

Global Wind Organisation

http://www.globalwindsafety.org

Global Wind Organisation is a non-profit body founded and owned by its members - all of whom are globally leading wind turbine manufacturers and owners/operators. Our members strive for an injury free work environment in the wind turbine industry, setting common international standards for safety training and emergency procedures. GWO published the first version of the Basic Safety Training (BST) standard in 2012 in response to the demand for a recognisable standard in the wind turbine industry. This was followed by the Basic Technical Training (BTT) Standard in 2017. GWO has since launched a range of other training standards which address the most common safety and technical training needs of the wind industry's largest employers.
